Our household made a NY resolution to est more fish and decrease how often we give our money to Amazon by supporting more local businesses when we can. Svenfish has helped us achieve both. The delivery service is reliable and we definitely notice the difference in flavor with fresh caught fish (even on the occasions when we’ve had to freeze it before consuming it). The variety we’ve gotten from the captains choice has been really nice — well suited to our stated preferences, diverse enough to not be the same old same old, but not totally out there selections we wouldn’t want to cook/eat. We’re on a biweekly schedule with the small size which has been the perfect cadence and amount for our family of 4 with 2 small kids. We usually eat 1lb the day of/after and freeze the other 1lb for the next week.

I found Svenfish by accident because I was looking to order oysters for NYE. The oyster box had oysters, little neck and shrimp and the freshness and taste was outstanding. This brought me to signing up for the subscription. I am still trying to figure out the week to week deliveries but so far I am so happy with the freshness and quality of the sustainable fish I receive weekly. I have three of my friends signed up within the week and they also love it!

The fish from Sven is always excellent quality and freshness, and the price is a steal considering.

My only critique of this subscription is that frequently the (usually, two, different varieties of) fish that you receive are best suited to different cooking methods - for example, swordfish/haddock, salmon/sole, etc. For our family of four, we cook the entire two pounds of fish at a go, so having to do it two different ways is inconvenient. I’d rather have two pounds of one fish, rather than a pound each of two varieties.

Otherwise, the fish is awesome, and the delivery system is great!

Quality is astounding. Thank you very much! No comparison whatsoever to supermarkets or even local fish mongers in Marblehead.
