Maple Mustard Glazed Salmon
If you have never tried mustard with salmon, you are missing out! Mustard pairs so well with the flavor of salmon and by adding real maple syrup – you got a super quick, sweet and spicy homemade glaze. Preparation Time: 10 mins. Cooking Time: 25 mins. Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of Svenfish salmon
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (whatever kind you like smooth, coarse, country style)
- 2 tablespoons real maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Method
- Preheat oven to 400ºF. If desired, line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean up.
- Rinse the salmon and patted dry with paper towel. Each pound is 2 servings, if you prefer, slice each pound in half to divide into 4 servings. Place salmon on prepared baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, combine mustard, maple syrup, olive oil, salt, paprika, and pepper. Spoon about half of this mixture over the salmon in an even layer. (Use less or more as desired).
-
Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and spoon on the rest of the maple mustard mixture.
-
Return to oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until an instant read thermometer reads 145ºF and fish flakes easily with a fork.
*An internal temperature of 145ºF is USDA recommended temperature, though many people would consider that "well done." So cook it to whatever temperature you like!
